Help keep FreeTransit free.

FreeTransit is a personal project — maintained endlessly, out of one person's pocket, so the routing community can have free BGP transit. If it's useful to you, a sponsorship keeps the POPs running and the work going.

Why it needs you

No company behind it — just people who care

There's no SLA and there never will be. But the network is real, and so are its running costs.

A one-person project

FreeTransit isn't a company — it's a personal project, designed, written and operated by one person who believes free transit belongs to the community. There's no team, no funding round, no billing department.

Real servers, real bills

Every POP is a real machine carrying real BGP. Servers, transit, IP space and the control plane all cost money each month — paid out of pocket so that peering with us stays $0.

Maintained, endlessly

Nights, weekends and the occasional 3 a.m. page. Keeping the network healthy, the filters fresh and the broker online is ongoing work. Sponsorship is what keeps the lights on and the coffee hot.

Where it goes

Every dollar stays in the network

Sponsorship isn't profit — it's the difference between this project surviving and shutting down.

More points of presence

Sponsorship funds new POPs in new regions — shorter paths and more places to peer.

Bandwidth & uptime

Transit commits and headroom so sessions stay fast even as the network grows.

Infrastructure & tooling

RPKI validators, IRR mirrors, monitoring and the domains that tie it all together.

Time to keep building

Every hour spent on features, fixes and answering peers is time a sponsor helps make possible.

Run an IX? Donate a node.

If you operate — or have a port on — an Internet Exchange, you can contribute an IX-connected machine and turn it into a FreeTransit POP.

Become a sponsor

Any amount helps — one-off or monthly, on GitHub Sponsors. Thank you for keeping free transit alive.
